Billing models
We offer three different invoicing models, so you always remain in control of your financial processes. Whether you are dealing with freelancers, temporary workers, seconded employees or suppliers, our models enable you to organize invoicing efficiently and clearly.
You save time because many manual tasks are automated, you maintain control because everything is recorded and checked centrally and payments are always processed quickly and correctly. This not only brings peace of mind to your administration, but also creates a reliable and transparent invoicing flow within your organization.
Selfbilling model
Organizations that hire freelancers or suppliers for their own projects often have to deal with errors and delays in invoicing. With our Selfbilling model, the control point is moved forward: first, all hours and costs are approved, then your organization automatically generates the purchase invoices on behalf of the freelancer and the corresponding sales invoices.
This speeds up payments, ensures that invoices are always correct, and gives you a complete overview of all invoicing flows. This invoicing model is ideal for direct collaboration with freelancers and offers flexibility without suppliers having to send invoices themselves.
Intermediary model
Intermediaries who bring suppliers and clients together often have to deal with complex invoicing flows and commissions. With invoicing using the intermediary model, two invoices are automatically generated: one on behalf of the self-employed person to the intermediary and one to the client, including the intermediary margin.
This makes the process efficient and error-free, while keeping administration to a minimum for both intermediaries and freelancers. This model is ideal for industries where VAT is invoiced and makes it easy to keep track of payments and commissions.
Three-party model
In sectors such as healthcare, education, and other large organizations, clarity and transparency are crucial, especially when multiple freelancers or suppliers are working simultaneously. When invoicing using the 3-party model, three invoices are created: one on behalf of the self-employed person to the intermediary, one for the intermediary commission and one for the payment to the self-employed person.
In addition, for many invoices, a collective invoice can be created, in which all underlying invoices are clearly bundled for the intermediary and, if necessary, the self-employed person. Commissions are fully transparent and everything is laid down in a contract. Direct invoicing also makes it possible to invoice VAT-free in sectors such as healthcare.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is selfbilling?
Selfbilling is a software module that automatically generates accurate invoices on behalf of suppliers, freelancers, and volunteers. The control point is moved forward. First, hours and costs are checked and approved, then the system automatically generates the correct invoices on behalf of the supplier or freelancer. All invoices are processed directly in ERP, accounting, or HR systems, eliminating the need for manual checks and corrections.
For which organizations is selfbilling suitable?
Selfbilling is suitable for healthcare institutions, intermediaries, temporary employment agencies, companies that hire a lot of flexible workers, and volunteer organizations. Municipalities and corporations can also benefit from an error-free and efficient invoicing process.
How does selfbilling save time?
Because invoices are automatically generated based on approved hours and costs, manual checks and corrections are no longer necessary. Organizations can save up to 60% of the time spent on their invoicing process.
What billing models are available?
Selfbilling supports multiple models: direct invoicing for clients, the intermediary model for intermediaries, and the three-party model with or without a collective invoice. This means the system can always be tailored to your organization’s collaboration and processes.
Will everything be automatically linked to my systems?
Yes, selfbilling can be fully integrated with ERP, accounting, HR, and planning systems. This automates the entire invoicing process and allows you to maintain an overview at all times.

Selfbilling in 3 steps
Approve hours & costs
All hours worked, expense claims and costs are checked and approved before an invoice is created. This ensures that everything is correct and eliminates credit notes.
Generate invoices
Based on the approved hours, selfbilling creates purchase invoices on behalf of the freelancer or supplier. The system also generates sales invoices including commissions, while large organizations can bundle them into a collective invoice.
Processing payments
Once invoices have been created correctly, payments are processed quickly and without errors. Freelancers, suppliers and end customers all receive the correct invoices, and you retain complete oversight of the invoicing process.
