Invoice fraud is a growing problem for organizations. You’ve probably seen a phantom invoice pass by before. And the widely feared phishing email, which makes an urgent request for payment to a financial administrative employee, will not be foreign to you either. When we recently thought together about invoice fraud, we realized that good workflow software is also very suitable for preventing phishing mails. How? Digital workflow: consistency, monitoring and efficiency

The defining characteristic of a workflow system is that it helps you automate and optimize existing work processes. It provides overview, lets you work more efficiently and leaves you time for things that really matter. At the same time, a workflow also allows you to formalize your process. What does this mean? Suppose you want to make a payment based on an incoming invoice. You go through this process the same way every time – the purchase invoice is uniformly registered, archived and posted and then sent around for approval. Once all signatures are in place, the invoice can be finalized and you can proceed to payment. A standard process within every company – whether you work digitally or manually. The repetition of this process depends on the level of automation. Put more simply, a good, clear work process is the same every time – and automation can greatly enhance its consistent execution and monitoring. This is why it makes sense to invest in a digital workflow.
